Junior ROTC Program Coordinator

Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of this role is to design, execute, and assess training initiatives for Junior ROTC programs within the educational framework. This position entails the creation of training schedules and materials, provision of professional development for JROTC instructors, and the organization of extracurricular activities, along with other related duties as necessary. The role operates autonomously, with significant activities reported during scheduled meetings.
Key Responsibilities:- Designs, implements, and assesses JROTC training and professional development initiatives for instructors, adhering to district and U.S. Army guidelines.
- Supports uniformity and coherence across all JROTC units in compliance with established regulations.
- Procures and manages educational materials.
- Creates a comprehensive training calendar and weekly schedules for the academic year.
- Organizes district-wide extracurricular events, including drill competitions, marksmanship contests, physical training sessions, team-building activities, academic challenges, parades, award ceremonies, and an annual summer camp.
- Conducts risk assessments for all training events; leads safety briefings prior to activities; oversees and enforces safety protocols.
- Stays informed on updates to the JROTC curriculum; communicates changes and trends to instructors.
- Maintains and updates training and cadet records.
- Handles inquiries, concerns, and complaints related to responsibilities.
- Performs routine administrative tasks, including report preparation, document management, and data entry.
- Participates in training sessions, conferences, and workshops to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
- Undertakes additional duties as assigned.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited institution, along with a valid teaching certificate. Must meet the standards set forth by the relevant educational regulations and agreements.
Requires education or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in education, training, or a related field. An Army officer rank is necessary. A valid state driver’s license is required, along with three years of relevant experience.
Degree Equivalency:
Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years plus required experience.
Master’s Degree = 2 years plus required experience. When a Master’s degree is mandated, years for Bachelor’s degrees must be included.
