Position Overview: The School of Public Health at the University of Memphis East is seeking applications for a Lecturer in Teaching position within the Social and Behavioral Sciences department. This is a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track role that offers a unique opportunity to engage with a dynamic academic community dedicated to enhancing public health education, research, and community involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver undergraduate and/or graduate-level instruction in Social and Behavioral Sciences and Urban Health.
- Guide and mentor both undergraduate and graduate students within the Division and the School of Public Health.
- Participate in committees aimed at the development and improvement of the Division and the School of Public Health.
- Contribute to the Division and School by taking on leadership roles in service and administrative capacities.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must possess a relevant doctoral degree (PhD or DPH) in public health or a related field and meet the academic criteria for consideration as a Lecturer. The rank will be determined based on the qualifications of the candidates. While a research background is not mandatory, candidates are encouraged to maintain a research portfolio.
Preferred Attributes: This position is funded for a limited duration. Candidates should demonstrate: (1) a history of teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels in public health or a related field; and (2) excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
