Campus Tech Support Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Campus Tech Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to students, faculty, and staff on a variety of technology-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the delivery and support of classroom technology needs
  • Assist students and faculty with computer support and instruction
  • Provide technical assistance to faculty and staff
  • Assist in providing workshops and small group training related to computer and instructional technologies
  • Provide on-line and phone technical assistance via the help desk
  • Assist in set up and maintenance of computer hardware
  • Assist in resolving equipment, software, network, viruses, and other problems
  • Assist in providing security and management of the laboratory
  • Maintain statistics related to users, facilities, and equipment usage
  • Make recommendations to supervisor of needed workshops, training aids, hardware, and software
  • Assist in inventory of area software and hardware
  • Coordinate off-campus material used by other campuses
  • Receive and book requests for use of audio-visual material and equipment
  • Log bookings daily, monthly, and the entire session on the computer
  • Inventory control and documentation
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • General office experience
  • Proficiency in the use of computers
  • Experience providing technical support
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience working in a help desk environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of various administrative, clerical, and support activities
  • Knowledge of computers and their different programs and operations
  • Knowledge and skill in the operation of office equipment, VCRs, computers, televisions, and audio-visual equipment
  • Good communication skills and interest in working with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to relate effectively with others
  • Ability to work in a structured environment with a high degree of attention to details
  • Ability to maintain files and records and perform a variety of tasks
