The Culinary Supervisor is accountable for the preparation and cooking of meals utilizing standardized recipes and production protocols while adhering to food safety, handling, and sanitation standards.

This individual must proficiently manage kitchen tools and equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and broilers. The Culinary Supervisor may oversee team members and assign tasks as necessary. Responsibilities may differ by location based on client needs and operational requirements.


COMPENSATION:


The hourly wage for this role ranges from $27.00 to $30.00, influenced by factors such as the applicant's skills, qualifications, relevant degrees and certifications, previous experience, market trends, and other pertinent elements.

Additional compensation may include bonuses or commissions, where applicable. This represents Aramark's reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position at the time of posting.

  • Upon hiring, the employee will be in an at-will position, and Aramark reserves the right to adjust base salary and any other discretionary payments or compensation programs at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to individual performance, departmental performance, and market conditions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assigns and schedules daily tasks for staff while supervising task completion.
  • Trains and mentors staff on job responsibilities, food safety, and sanitation practices.
  • Prepares and cooks meals according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
  • Organizes workstation with necessary ingredients and equipment.
  • Measures, weighs, mixes, chops, trims, and peels food items as required.
  • Safely utilizes kitchen utensils, including knives.
  • Operates kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.
  • Employs various cooking techniques including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming.
  • Presents, garnishes, and portions food in accordance with established standards.
  • Ensures proper food storage by adhering to safety policies and procedures.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Maintains a high level of customer service with a positive demeanor towards guests and colleagues.
  • Adheres to Aramark's safety policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation.
  • Safeguards company assets.
  • Creates and maintains work schedules and may prepare production records.

Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience in a culinary role is preferred.
  • Experience as a cook or in a related position is required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fundamental food preparation principles, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations, including proper handling, sanitation, and storage.
  • Food safety certification is mandatory.
  • Basic math and counting skills are necessary.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.

This position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing.

Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
