The Community Operations Assistant will support the Community Manager in various facets of property management, which include leasing, rent collection, maintenance coordination, resident engagement, and financial documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leasing activities, which encompass processing applications, conducting property tours, and preparing lease agreements.
  • Address resident inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Facilitate maintenance requests and ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Coordinate move-in and move-out processes, including conducting unit inspections and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Collect and process rent payments, prepare deposits, and maintain accurate resident account records.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, including occupancy and delinquency reports.
  • Help plan and execute resident events and activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident and vendor files.
  • Ensure compliance with city, state, and federal Fair Housing laws, as well as relevant regulations regarding resident relations and community operations.
  • Adhere to all property management policies and procedures.
  • Follow safety protocols as outlined in the Employee Handbook and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and consistently represent the company positively.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in business, real estate, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of bookkeeping, accounting, and financial experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of sales experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in onsite multi-family housing is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
  • Experience with property management software is preferred (e.g., Yardi Voyager, RentCafe, Yieldstar, LEO, and CRM).
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to property management is essential.
  • Customer service-oriented with a passion for property management.
  • Strong desire to lead within the role and the local community.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
