Position: Aircraft Maintenance Manager
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Senior Maintenance Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS) as necessary.
- Complete Initial Level 2 SMS Training and maintain up-to-date qualifications as specified in the SMS Manual, Chapter 4.
- Ensure personnel are adequately trained and qualified for their assigned duties.
- Oversee and manage all maintenance operations concerning line aircraft.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Planning Manager to determine ground equipment needs and maintenance schedules.
Additional Duties:
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of aircraft technicians and service providers.
- Identify, assess qualifications, and review contracts with maintenance providers in designated regions.
- Recruit, hire, and nurture technicians to ensure aircraft maintenance in the region.
- Guarantee the availability of tools, equipment, and manuals necessary for task completion.
- Monitor staffing levels and schedules to maintain sufficient maintenance coverage and operational effectiveness.
- Review overtime and implement schedule adjustments as needed.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of maintenance documentation.
- Ensure adherence to Company policies and address all safety concerns promptly.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments or service providers as required.
- Analyze operational delays and implement strategies to reduce them while enhancing efficiency.
- Act as Chairperson and voting member of the National Airlines ETOPS Review Board.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and procedures related to ETOPS.
- Have the authority to establish and modify policies, procedures, and instructions to keep the ETOPS program current.
- Facilitate communication between departments to resolve ETOPS-related responsibilities.
- Track updates to the Configuration, Maintenance, and Procedures (CMP) manual and new Airworthiness Directives or Service Letters for ETOPS-required modifications, coordinating with engineering and Maintenance Planning for implementation.
- Work with Aircraft Records to confirm that ETOPS aircraft are maintained according to ETOPS configuration standards.
- Collaborate with the Director of Quality to ensure maintenance program revisions comply with ETOPS requirements.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Planning, and DQC to meet ETOPS requirements for similar system maintenance.
- Partner with the Powerplant Manager to investigate the causes of any in-flight shutdowns.
- Engage with ETOPS Review Board members and Manufacturers to address persistent discrepancies in ETOPS significant systems.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Vice President of Technical Operations.

Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a role responsible for returning aircraft to service.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience maintaining aircraft of the same category and class as those operated by the Company.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations, specifically Parts 65, 91, and 121.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in maintaining large aircraft within an air carrier environment.
- Completion of all initial and recurrent training necessary to ensure qualification for assigned duties.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, and climbing stairs.
- Capability to assist passengers with disabilities, including pushing wheelchairs.
Travel Requirements: 0-25%
