Preoperative Registered Nurse

At Surgery Partners, we are seeking a skilled Preoperative Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our ambulatory surgical center, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe transition of patients through the preoperative process.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, develop, and implement total nursing care for preoperative patients
- Record and report symptoms, reactions, abnormalities, and changes in patient conditions
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Care for and discharge preoperative patients according to facility policies
- Review patient charts for accuracy and completeness
- Assemble and label personal belongings bags and assist patients with O.R. dress attire
- Administer preoperative sedation
- Function independently in emergency situations
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Registered Nurse License
- Current American Heart Association BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications
- Knowledge of healthcare products, stock rotation procedures, storage systems, inventory supplements, preference card management, and credit
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to healthcare products
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures
- Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and possess superior organization and communication skills
- Ability to perform simple mathematical functions
- Ability to perform data entry procedures and equipment and supply tracking
Working Conditions:
Normal busy office environment with much telephone work. Occasional evening or weekend work.
