Job Title: Preoperative Registered Nurse

At Surgery Partners, we are seeking a skilled Preoperative Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our ambulatory surgical center, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe transition of patients through the preoperative process.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess, develop, and implement total nursing care for preoperative patients
  • Record and report symptoms, reactions, abnormalities, and changes in patient conditions
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
  • Care for and discharge preoperative patients according to facility policies
  • Review patient charts for accuracy and completeness
  • Assemble and label personal belongings bags and assist patients with O.R. dress attire
  • Administer preoperative sedation
  • Function independently in emergency situations

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse License
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications
  • Knowledge of healthcare products, stock rotation procedures, storage systems, inventory supplements, preference card management, and credit
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to healthcare products
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures
  • Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and possess superior organization and communication skills
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical functions
  • Ability to perform data entry procedures and equipment and supply tracking

Working Conditions:
Normal busy office environment with much telephone work. Occasional evening or weekend work.
