The Sales Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the Regional Sales Manager within a specific territory, contributing to the achievement of overall sales objectives. This position also entails providing exemplary customer service to clients and manufacturer representatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary resource for customers and manufacturer's representatives in the assigned territory, delivering essential customer service, product selection, and technical assistance promptly and courteously.
  • Handle customer inquiries, interpreting specifications and requirements to prepare accurate quotations.
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding quotes to ensure timely responses.
  • Conduct contract reviews, demonstrating knowledge of terms and conditions, technical specifications, discounts, and commissions.
  • Process credit and returned material authorizations (RMA) efficiently.
  • Prepare detailed quotations, including sizing and competitive pricing analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to maintain current information regarding customer activities, ensuring effective service delivery.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on workload and business needs.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in computer systems, capable of utilizing company CPQ and ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
  • Strong mathematical skills, familiarity with units of measure, and proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent reading comprehension, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret basic submittal drawings.
  • Understanding of mechanical equipment and processes, coupled with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Preferred experience in sales related to pressure relief products, process equipment, compressors, pumps, or petrochemical controls and services.

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree in Business, Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of sales experience in mechanical applications, particularly in environments utilizing manufacturers' representatives.
