POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety Operations Manager plays a vital role in safeguarding personnel on construction sites. Key responsibilities encompass the planning, execution, and oversight of project safety in alignment with Federal, State, and local Health and Safety regulations, as well as Environment (HSE) standards, site safety protocols, and corporate policies. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, and willing to travel to various job sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise essential work plan activities to ensure adherence to the approved work plan.
  • Conduct job site inspections and review safety-related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance of field operations with current OSHA regulations, Murray Company policies, and the rules set forth by Owners or General Contractors as per contractual agreements.
  • Facilitate training as necessary for projects to ensure all on-site personnel possess the required training and collaborate with the project team to identify and schedule upcoming training needs.
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses at job sites, and develop safety alerts based on findings.
  • Ensure proper management of work-related injuries and provide appropriate care for injured employees.
  • Formulate and implement procedures to mitigate hazards and risks identified through lessons learned and investigations from previous incidents.
  • Support the Safety Department and project team as required for specific safety-related matters.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Over 10 years of experience managing safety across multiple job sites.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Experience in the construction safety industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety or a related discipline.
  • CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) certification.
  • STSC (Safety Trained Safety Certified) certification.
  • CPR Training Certification.
  • Prior experience with a mechanical contracting firm.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying of items weighing between 10 to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision, along with proficiency in computer use.
  • Regular standing is required while performing job duties.
  • Manual dexterity to handle, feel, grasp, or pick up items and operate a computer.
  • Occasional reaching above shoulder height may be necessary.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and hear effectively.
  • Physical activities may include walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and navigating uneven surfaces during project inspections.

Pay Rate: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
