Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equipment Operator to join our team at Savage. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating various pieces of heavy equipment, including cranes, loaders, and excavators, to move, stockpile, and prepare petroleum coke for distribution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment, such as cranes, loaders, and excavators, to perform various tasks, including moving and stockpiling petroleum coke.
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and identify any potential issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed to meet customer expectations, including maintenance and cleanup.
  • Report any maintenance issues to the maintenance crew in a timely manner.
  • Participate in safety meetings and adhere to safe work practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Must meet refinery standards for entering the plant, including a clean criminal history, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a hair-follicle drug screen.
  • Caterpillar excavator and front-end loader experience is preferred.
  • Extensive experience operating large pieces of heavy equipment is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be safety conscious and understand safe work practices for a refinery.
  • Must be comfortable with heights and able to climb ladders and walk on conveyor belt lines.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be physically able to handle large tools and equipment (60 lbs) and climb on and off equipment.
  • Must not have a fear of heights.
