Job Overview

The HR Operations Specialist will contribute to the effective management of personnel functions at Ridgecrest Foundation. This role is essential in supporting payroll administration, benefits coordination, and leave management programs. The HR Operations Specialist will also foster positive employee relations by addressing common inquiries and escalating more complex issues as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing all elements of payroll, compensation, and benefits administration, including leave management.
  • Facilitating the off-boarding process to ensure a seamless transition for departing employees.
  • Responding to and resolving standard employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, while escalating sensitive matters to the HR Director when required.
  • Supporting employee relations by managing routine inquiries and forwarding complex issues to the HR Director.
  • Assisting with internal communications related to HR matters.
  • Providing administrative support for talent management initiatives and helping implement HR strategies as directed.
  • Coordinating logistics for employee training and development programs to promote skill enhancement and career advancement.
  • Maintaining accurate and current employee records and HR documentation.
  • Supporting HR projects and initiatives by offering administrative and logistical assistance.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, while implementing best practices in HR policies and procedures.
  • Consistently embodying Ridgecrest's core values.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven capability to manage confidential information discreetly.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Experience in HR administration is preferred.
  • Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) such as Paylocity, Workday, ADP, or similar platforms. Paylocity is preferred.
  • Experience with payroll processing is strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience in employee relations and performance management is a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • This position requires extended periods of computer use, involving visual review of documents and forms.
  • Extended sitting and viewing of screens are necessary.
  • Occasional travel may be required (less than 5% of the role).
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. and perform bending, stooping, and twisting multiple times a day.
