Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Program Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the mission of Black Mountain Home for Children by ensuring efficient administrative operations and fostering a positive environment for staff and youth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ, exemplifying Christian values in all interactions with youth, staff, and the community.
  • Engage in regular prayer for the youth, staff, and the overall ministry.
  • Participate in staff meetings, contributing to discussions and maintaining awareness of ministry updates through review of meeting minutes.
  • Manage the main phone line and provide a warm welcome to guests.
  • Assist with financial data entry tasks, including deposits and billing, under the guidance of the VP of Finance.
  • Contribute to the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Committee by updating tracking spreadsheets and documenting meeting minutes.
  • Support the maintenance of the ministry's community calendar as needed.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the VP of Programs and other leadership staff, including special projects and routine tasks.
  • Document meeting minutes and assist with meeting logistics, including setup and cleanup.
  • Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong data entry skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills, capable of producing professional documents.
  • Outstanding organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and its applications.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the VP of Programs.
