This is a Full-Time position on the Day shift.

Overview:

The Clinical Nurse Practice Specialist (CNPS) is a registered professional nurse with a master's degree, possessing advanced clinical expertise. This role supports and enhances the delivery of safe, age-appropriate, and culturally competent patient care across various patient populations and service lines, including:

The CNPS demonstrates extensive knowledge, skills, and abilities in their specialty area, serving as a resource for the healthcare team and advocating for evidence-based practices and performance improvement to enhance nursing science and patient care outcomes.

Core Responsibilities:

Shared Leadership:

  • Collaborates effectively within the Shared Leadership model to cultivate strategies that promote inquiry and positive change, encouraging nurse engagement in continuous improvement of nursing care quality.
  • Fosters interdisciplinary partnerships and provides clinical leadership in the design and standardization of treatment protocols and clinical interventions.
  • Advances nursing practice through innovative, evidence-based interventions and modifications of professional standards to enhance collaborative practice.
  • Participates in the development and revision of evidence-based guidelines, policies, and protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Advocates for the professional nurse's role as a key member of the interdisciplinary team, ensuring adherence to ethical and practice standards.

Teamwork:

  • Encourages teamwork, integrity, and communication among staff.
  • Acts as a resource for staff, supporting nursing excellence and clinical integration.
  • Collaborates with leadership and medical staff to evaluate and implement practice standards that optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provides mentoring to promote nursing as a profession and supports career progression aligned with practice excellence.

Required Minimum Education:
Master's Degree in Nursing (MS, MSN, DNP) from an accredited institution with a recognized CNL program.

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
Registered Nurse (Single State), RN - Multi-state Compact, Basic Life Support, Clinical Nurse Leader, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife.

Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience in a similar patient population/service line.

Required Minimum Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, advanced clinical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Compliance with the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses is essential.
