Position Summary
The Pediatric Transplant and Cellular Therapy (PTCT) Clinical Service Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering clinical expertise and care coordination for children aged 0-21 years who are referred for bone marrow or stem cell transplantation. This position is integral to the PTCT interdisciplinary team and the Center of Advance Practice, working collaboratively to enhance outcomes across various domains for pediatric bone marrow transplant patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Expertise: Coordinate evaluations for new patients and donors entering the Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant system, serving as a clinical expert for patients and families.
  • Assessment and Coordination: Screen patient referrals for appropriateness, schedule consultations, and coordinate necessary diagnostic tests.
  • Patient Education: Conduct comprehensive pre-transplant teaching and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Coaching and Education: Identify educational needs for patients and families, develop educational resources, and provide training for nursing staff.
  • Collaboration: Foster collaborative relationships within and across departments to enhance patient safety and clinical excellence.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development and maintain high standards of ethical practice.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and integrate evidence-based practices into patient care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited BSN program.
  • Current unrestricted RN license recognized by the appropriate nursing board.
  • Preferred certifications include CPHON and/or BMTCN.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant RN clinical experience is required.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
Candidates must possess the ability to communicate effectively, perform health assessments, and manage various physical demands of the role.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position requiring a Monday to Friday schedule with potential weekend and holiday coverage.
