Role Summary:
The Aquatic Safety Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the highest safety standards within the aquatic environment, ensuring the well-being of all participants in the aquatic programs. This role includes overseeing and executing aquatic activities tailored to the interests and needs of the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitor the safety of patrons within the facility, responding promptly and effectively to emergencies.
- Provide immediate care and assistance until professional medical help arrives.
- Exhibit a professional demeanor and uphold exceptional customer service standards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment.
- Conduct daily cleaning of the pool deck and locker rooms.
- Manage weekly pool maintenance, including vacuuming and backwashing to maintain water quality.
- Ensure proper storage and upkeep of all aquatic equipment.
- Maintain a tidy and organized pool office area at all times.
- Regularly check and document chlorine and pH levels of the pool water.
- Conduct daily safety inspections of all aquatic areas.
- Secure all pool facilities and changing areas after activities conclude.
- Plan and facilitate various aquatic programs such as swim lessons, family swim, and water aerobics, while keeping accurate activity records.
- Report any incidents or safety concerns to the Program Director or Assistant Program Director.
- Maintain order and safety among all participants by proactively addressing potential hazards.
- Handle miscellaneous duties as assigned, ensuring confidentiality of all personnel and member information.
- Understand and adhere to the philosophy and policies of The Salvation Army, including instructing and supporting volunteers in community service programs.
Working Conditions:
Must be capable of walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Lifeguard Certification, Water Safety Instructor (WSI) card, and First Aid/CPR certification.
- AED Training Certification.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations. A clean driving record may be required, and a criminal background check is necessary for those working with children.
