Job Summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a highly skilled Aquatics Director to lead our Aquatics Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the department, ensuring compliance with Association standards and safety procedures, and providing leadership and support to staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Aquatics Department, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff and volunteers.
  • Develop and manage the Aquatics Department budget to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.
  • Provide leadership and support to staff and volunteers, including training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all Association standards and safety procedures.
  • Develop and implement programs to promote aquatic safety and wellness.

Requirements:

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Current YMCA Lifeguarding, American Safety & Health Institute, or American Red Cross certification.
  • Ability to maintain required certification.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in aquatics with 3-4 years of supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree, Y-USA LG Instructor Certification, YUSA Swim Lesson Instructor Certification, CPO or POOL Certification, preferred.
