Medical Coding Specialist II

Williamson Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Coding Specialist II to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely charge entry for patients in our facility.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure accurate input of E&M and Surgery Charges in the EMR and billing systems.
- Timely entry and tracking of surgical charges compared to physician logs and spreadsheets.
- Provide billing reconciliation and complete monthly close in a timely manner.
- Work with clinical staff to ensure diagnoses match with CPT billing and address missing slips to ensure all billable charges are entered.
- Collaborate with providers to ensure appropriate documentation for billing.
- Manage claim hold buckets for assigned providers related to clinical and surgical CPT/ICD10 issues.
- Maintain coding certification through appropriate CEU's on an annual basis.
- Report concerns requiring attention and bring possible solutions when presenting concerns or problems to the manager or director.
- Maintain open communication with staff and patients regarding all billing/coding needs.
- Participate in departmental meetings and recommend improvement opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A coding certification.
- Physician billing experience.
- PC and calculator proficiency.
- Strong communication skills to convey financial policies.
Prior experience in a physician office setting or related area is required, with coding and charge entry experience preferred. Proficiency with AthenaOne systems, Allscripts System, Phreesia System, and Meditech, as well as basic office equipment, is necessary.
