Medical Billing Specialist Position Overview

At Midlands Neurology and Pain Associates, P.A., we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of billing, including accounts receivables, claims submission, and payment posting. You will work closely with our medical staff to ensure accurate and timely billing.

Responsibilities:

* Manage claim denials from insurance companies and resolve issues in a timely manner
* Contact insurance companies to resolve unpaid claims and negotiate payment
* Correct and resubmit claims to payers as needed
* Review aging reports to identify and resolve reasons for unpaid claims
* Post payments and maintain accurate records
* Identify and resolve patient billing inquiries
* Perform various collection actions, including contacting insurance companies and patients by phone
* Effectively utilize time and resources to meet performance goals

Requirements:

* Medical Billing Certification
* 3+ years of previous medical collections experience with general insurance billing practice knowledge required
* 3-4 years of experience in CPT & ICD-9/10 Coding
* Billing-related background in a physician clinic setting preferred
* Attention to detail, consistent, productive, and able to meet deadlines
* Ability to work in the office, as this is not a remote position
