Job Summary

The Nuclear Technical Specialist will be responsible for planning and performing inspections, evaluating inspection results, and preparing and setting up test equipment. This position requires a working knowledge of applicable American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) code and ANSI standards, as well as in-depth knowledge of nondestructive examinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and perform inspections to ensure compliance with ASME code and ANSI standards
  • Evaluate inspection results and prepare reports
  • Prepare and set up test equipment for inspections
  • Train less experienced personnel and coordinate inspection contractor personnel during outages

Requirements
  • High School diploma required
  • Associate or higher degree in relevant field preferred
  • Technical training in the area of inspection resulting in ANSI Level II or III certification in one or more of the following fields: Electrical, Mechanical, I&C, Civil, Coatings
  • Technical training in the area of nondestructive testing resulting in Level II or Level III certification in the following fields: Visual Section XI, Visual Welding, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant inspection
