Position Overview:
We are in search of a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join our innovative team. This role is essential in addressing complex challenges associated with electric transmission in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will take on the role of Engineer for electric transmission line design initiatives, focusing on high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) systems, both overhead and underground, for major utility companies.

This position will require the application of industry standards such as NESC, ASCE, ACI, and others in the engineering and design processes for electrical systems, including voltage conversion, capacity expansion, and infrastructure upgrades.

Additional Duties:
The Senior Transmission Line Engineer will conduct engineering analyses, create bidding documents, draft plans and specifications, and prepare procurement and construction documentation. Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team at Leidos is essential, as well as interfacing with clients and various project stakeholders, including planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams.

Project Involvement:
This position is linked to a project currently in the proposal phase, offering a unique opportunity to influence its direction from the outset.

Work Environment:
This role is based in a flexible work environment, allowing for a hybrid schedule that includes both office and remote work.

Qualifications:
To be considered, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and have a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in electric utility transmission system design. Experience in reviewing comprehensive transmission line designs, including PLS-CADD models, foundations, and construction packages, is essential.

Applicants should demonstrate knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements, along with familiarity with construction specifications, material procurement processes, project timelines, and construction work packages.

Skills and Experience:
- Proven ability to develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and project teams.
- Leadership experience is required for Senior and Subject Matter Expert levels.
- Occasional travel or work in client offices may be necessary.

Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD and POLE.
- Familiarity with LPILE or FAD Tools.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:
- EIT, FE, or Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred.

Additional Tools:
- Experience with PLS TOWER and Autodesk AutoCAD is advantageous.
- Background in Construction Management and Support is a plus.
