Job Summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Transmission Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our grid planning department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and evaluating main grid transmission systems to support company objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop complex engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments to support main grid operations.
  • Act as a lead expert in the work group, training and mentoring junior engineers and technicians.
  • Recommend alternative engineering solutions to management to meet business needs.
  • Maintain project timeliness and budgets.
  • Participate in the development of new industry standards to influence the successful implementation of clear and concise standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member and maintain project timelines and budgets.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calm.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements and present alternatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Power Option (particularly Power System Analysis).
  • Advanced degree.
