Job SummaryWe are seeking an Extension Educator II to plan, conduct, and evaluate educational workshops and training sessions for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligible youth and adults in the Central region.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the SNAP-ED program in the Central region, organizing and teaching educational workshops and training sessions using research-based information.
- Assist with project management, including budgeting, as assigned.
- Participate in needs assessment, formulation of program objectives, and design of delivery methods, preparing required plans and reports.
- Contribute to applied scholarly or creative activity, or research as applicable.
- Collaborate with community organizations to deliver programs at assigned sites and seek continued funding support.
- Represent UMass Extension at the local level, participating in SNAP-ED teams and staff meetings, and developing promotional materials.
- Maintain and increase personal and professional competence through in-service training, professional association activities, and continuing education.
- Conduct periodic evaluations of program effectiveness and prepare reports as required.
- Bachelor's degree and one year of related professional experience.
- Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.
- Ability to maintain a diverse schedule of local, regional, and statewide activity.
- Excellent interpersonal and group process skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Knowledge and ability to implement adult education theories and practices with diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently to organize multiple tasks and set priorities for action in a fast-paced office environment.
- Ability to speak Spanish.
This position is based out of the Auburn, MA Extension Office and requires the ability to push, pull, carry, and drive to various locations to transport nutrition education materials.
Work ScheduleThis is a full-time position with a 37.5 hour workweek and the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.
