Risk Finance – Manager/Senior Manager
As a Manager-level Risk Consultant, you will collaborate closely with the leadership of Fortune 500 companies, mid-sized firms, and emerging startups, while engaging with all tiers of our personnel from Consultant to Partner. Your responsibilities will encompass Internal Audit, SOX implementation and testing, attestation/certification readiness, business process enhancement projects, compliance evaluations, and various assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee a small team on designated projects.
  2. Simultaneously manage multiple engagements, executing significant portions of projects with minimal oversight.
  3. Foster client relationships and ensure the professional delivery of internal audit engagements.
  4. Assist in formulating risk assessments and audit strategies for clients.
  5. Draft or review engagement scopes, project plans, risk assessments, testing methodologies, and specific procedures.
  6. Evaluate risk control testing, process narratives, flowcharts, or procedures for diverse assessments.
  7. Collaborate with client management to devise control identification and implementation strategies tailored to their organizational needs.
  8. Develop new client relationships and identify sales opportunities; seek to broaden service offerings to current clients.
  9. Ensure the establishment and maintenance of a controlled environment, preventing the need for the company to disclose significant deficiencies to its Audit Committee or report material weaknesses.
  10. Implement SOX-compliant controls that add value without imposing excessive burdens on the organization.
  11. Conduct and document assessments of the company's internal controls over financial reporting, enabling external auditors to utilize management's work effectively, thereby minimizing duplication and reducing compliance costs.
  12. Achieve financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  13. Monitor financial status by overseeing revenue and expenses, coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data, and preparing specialized reports.
  14. Support other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policies, applying insights and recommendations to operational challenges.
  15. Maintain accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts and defining accounting policies and procedures.
  16. Advise senior management on effective resource utilization and methods to prevent capital from being frozen.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. A minimum of 5+ years in an accounting/risk advisory capacity, with at least 3 years at a Big Four or large national firm.
  2. Possession of a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation or equivalent auditing certification, coupled with substantial Internal Audit experience.
  3. An undergraduate degree in Accounting, CPA, and/or MBA is preferred, alongside solid accounting experience.
  4. A Bachelor's degree in a Financial/Accounting discipline from an accredited institution.
  5. Strong technical proficiency and familiarity with SOX, COSO, and SOC reporting.
  6. Experience in client-facing roles, with a track record of acquiring new clients and expanding services to existing ones.
  7. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and handle various requests effectively.
  8. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, along with strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
  9. Demonstrated excellence in communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  10. Possess an entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivated, ethical, and reliable.
  11. Strong project management capabilities.
  12. Expertise in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, including proficiency in pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, arrays, etc.
  13. Exhibit excellent work habits, including a commitment to working the necessary hours to complete tasks, especially during critical deadlines.
