Risk Finance – Manager/Senior Manager
As a Manager-level Risk Consultant, you will collaborate closely with the leadership of Fortune 500 companies, mid-sized firms, and emerging startups, while also engaging with our diverse team from Consultants to Partners. Your responsibilities will encompass Internal Audit, SOX compliance and testing, readiness for attestation/certification, business process enhancement initiatives, compliance evaluations, and various assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee a small team on designated projects.
  2. Simultaneously manage multiple engagements, executing significant portions of projects with minimal oversight.
  3. Foster client relationships and ensure the professional delivery of internal audit services.
  4. Assist in the formulation of risk assessments and audit strategies for clients.
  5. Draft and review engagement scopes, project outlines, risk evaluations, testing methodologies, and specific procedures.
  6. Evaluate risk control testing, process documentation, flow diagrams, or procedures for various assessments.
  7. Consult with client management to devise control identification and implementation strategies tailored to their needs.
  8. Develop new client relationships and identify sales opportunities; explore avenues to broaden service offerings to current clients.
  9. Ensure the maintenance of a controlled environment, mitigating the need for the company to disclose significant deficiencies to its Audit Committee or report material weaknesses in its financial filings.
  10. Implement SOX-compliant controls that add value without imposing excessive burdens on the organization.
  11. Conduct and document assessments of the company's internal controls over financial reporting, facilitating external auditors' reliance on management's work to minimize redundancy and reduce compliance costs.
  12. Achieve financial objectives by forecasting needs, preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective measures.
  13. Monitor financial status by overseeing revenue and expenses, coordinating the collection and evaluation of financial data, and preparing specialized reports.
  14. Support other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policies, applying insights and recommendations to operational challenges.
  15. Maintain accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts and defining accounting policies and procedures.
  16. Advise senior management on effective resource utilization and strategies to prevent capital from being immobilized.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting or risk advisory capacity, with at least 3 years at a Big Four or large national firm.
  2. Possession of a CIA certification or equivalent auditing qualification, complemented by substantial Internal Audit experience.
  3. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, with CPA and/or MBA credentials preferred but not mandatory.
  4. Strong technical expertise and familiarity with SOX, COSO, and SOC reporting.
  5. Experience in client-facing roles, with a proven track record in acquiring new clients and expanding services to existing ones.
  6. Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and manage competing requests effectively.
  7. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, along with strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
  8. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, including pivot tables, v lookups, and arrays.
  9. A strong work ethic, including a commitment to working the necessary hours to meet deadlines, especially during high-pressure periods.
