Job Overview:

Position Summary:

The role involves the design and architecture of cloud-native software solutions utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. Responsibilities include the development of server-side Graph and REST APIs leveraging Java, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and NodeJS. The position also entails creating reusable cloud patterns and components using Java and Python, as well as architecting and developing enterprise-scale data solutions. This role requires an in-depth understanding of business functions to deliver comprehensive software applications that meet organizational needs. The individual will research and propose new technologies aligned with the strategic goals of the organization and will actively participate in evaluating suitable models, methods, tools, and technologies for enterprise-wide solutions. A key aspect of this position is mentoring software engineering teams, ensuring they are well-versed in the latest data technologies, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Author and review data architecture documentation, deliverables, and workflows.
  • Design and architect next-generation data products and platforms.
  • Investigate emerging technology trends to enhance data ecosystems.
  • Drive innovation and guide teams in implementing forward-thinking solutions.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver technology solutions that address business requirements.
  • Resolve technical challenges faced by the team and mitigate potential risks.
  • Design, develop, and modify complex software systems, employing scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict outcomes and assess design implications.
  • Develop and oversee software system testing and validation protocols, including programs and documentation.
  • Supervise the technical implementation of cross-divisional or company-wide architectural components.
  • Initiate and lead discussions with users or external groups to address project or strategy-related issues.
  • Establish the vision, goals, and direction for the team or organization.
  • Plan and execute organization-wide initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, technical oversight, and expertise to multiple teams on complex projects that span the organization.
  • Advise senior management on technical strategies.
  • Research and recommend innovative technologies.
  • Collaborate across departments to identify opportunities for organization-wide technology initiatives.
  • Regularly offer guidance, training, and coaching to team members for their professional growth and development.
  • Identify and plan for future resource requirements.
  • Determine strategic technical approaches for the business unit.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent foreign education) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field, along with six (6) years of experience in a Director-level role focused on architecture, designing, and implementing web applications, APIs, and databases within a financial services context using Java, Spring, Angular, AWS, or Azure.

Alternatively, a Master's degree (or equivalent foreign education) in the aforementioned fields, accompanied by four (4) years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.

Skills and Expertise:

The ideal candidate must demonstrate:

  • Expertise in designing and architecting resilient, secure, and highly scalable APIs and databases (Oracle) to facilitate application and system development, utilizing Java 11, open-source frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring AOP, OAuth, or JWT), integration frameworks (Apache Camel, EJB, and Azure Service Bus), cloud services (Azure and AWS EKS), and containerization technologies (Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in architecting responsive client-side applications using MVC frameworks (Angular 12 and 14), client-side technologies (HTML5, CSS, SASS, Bootstrap, or jQuery), web security principles (XSS or CSRF), and development environments (WebStorm and Visual Studio Code).
  • Experience in creating architecture roadmaps and coordinating solution architecture for digital user experiences, modernizing business processes to support service requests and transaction processing.
  • Capability in defining and architecting CI/CD infrastructure with automated testing for business capabilities, including the creation of build and deployment pipelines for cloud-native applications using container orchestration engines (AWS ECS, AWS EKS, or Azure AKS) and serverless patterns (Azure Functions).

Compensation: $173,000 - $183,250.00 per year.
