Production Scheduling Specialist

Top Gun Staffing Group LLC is proud to partner with a leading industrial manufacturer. We are currently in search of a proficient Master Scheduler to enhance their operational framework.
In the capacity of Master Scheduler, you will be instrumental in directing the scheduling and planning activities for designated production lines and customer segments. Your primary goals will include fulfilling customer delivery expectations and maximizing operational productivity.
This position serves as the pivotal connection among the purchasing, planning, and operations teams, ensuring smooth collaboration and compliance with the predetermined schedule. The Master Scheduler will be directly responsible for improving the company's financial and delivery metrics by concentrating on scheduling efficiency, inventory turnover (ROI) enhancement, and inventory accuracy improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings based on plant capacity and demand forecasting.
- Monitor monthly forecasting discrepancies by selected customers to drive enhancements in planning methodologies and ensure appropriate allocation in MRP planning.
- Oversee Supply Chain scheduling for new product introductions and phase-out management for specific customer/product categories.
- Develop long-term machine and labor capacity models alongside short-term fixed production plans to meet total customer demand and on-time delivery objectives.
- Maintain and enhance the ratio of inventory (ROI) targets across Work In Progress (WIP) and Finished Goods (FG) production items. Formulate and integrate inventory strategies throughout the organization.
- Create and sustain production scheduling tools (ERP and other software) to guarantee data integrity concerning production and inventory (including BOM/routing management).
- Engage with production, customer service, and purchasing teams regularly to promote improvements in the production planning process.
- Establish and maintain the scheduling system within the ERP on a consistent basis.
- Verify the schedule against the status of required materials, tools, artwork, and equipment to ensure that production can proceed as planned.
- Communicate frequently with customer service and supervisors regarding new jobs that may necessitate realigning the schedule to accommodate customer requirements.
- Accelerate operations that hinder schedules and modify schedules to address unforeseen circumstances.
- Implement lean methodologies through participation in Kaizen events, improvement initiatives, and lean projects to support corporate goals.
- Ensure adherence to 5S standards through ongoing sustainment activities.
- Lead value stream mapping initiatives for designated production areas to identify inventory/process stagnation, establish standard store targets, and enhance overall lead times.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Supply Chain preferred) or 7+ years of experience in production planning/scheduling.
- Demonstrated experience in production planning, demand planning, and capacity planning within a manufacturing context.
- Capability in process flow mapping and knowledge.
- Proficient computer skills in MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Publisher, and scheduling within ERP systems (IFS, Dynamics AX, Oracle, SAP).
- Aptitude for learning specialized software programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a solid ability to follow instructions.
- Extensive product/process knowledge.
- Proven organizational capabilities.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and adapt to changes effectively.
- Capacity to positively influence others and collaborate with various levels of personnel.
- Robust analytical skills and the ability to assess large data sets for informed decision-making.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
Compensation and Benefits:
- $100,000 - $110,000/year plus annual bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package.
