Position Overview:
AECOM is looking for a Senior Analyst of Government Financial Accounting to join our team in Sacramento, CA.

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Senior Analyst will play a key role in one of AECOM's significant infrastructure initiatives. This position is responsible for conducting analysis, reconciliations, and reporting of financial data for clients.

The role demands advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel to develop and support methodologies, processes, and practices related to budget management, funding, and expenditures, ensuring compliance with State and Federal reporting standards.

Candidates should have prior experience in creating, interpreting, and analyzing data related to budgeting, grant management, expenditures, cash flow analysis, and funding.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee month-end and quarter-end Finance and Administration reporting, managing specific areas of analysis and serving as a backup/reviewer for colleagues.
- Continuously seek process improvements for all owned processes and document responsibilities.
- Contribute to the development of new analysis and reporting methodologies.
- Conduct ad hoc reconciliations and analyses as needed.
- Perform data entry into database applications, analyze data, and provide recommendations for database report design.
- Collaborate with team members in preparing financial reports and funding forecasts.
- Ensure accuracy of data and methodologies, conducting financial reviews and analyses within set deadlines.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in data entry and review.
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
- Work under tight deadlines on large-scale infrastructure projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS degree with 8 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, experience in Government Contracting, understanding of Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB), 10+ years of experience in finance and accounting, certification in Internal Auditing is advantageous, ability to cultivate cooperative working relationships, and respond effectively to challenging situations. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and strong skills in Microsoft Office, along with excellent communication abilities. Experience in project planning, budgeting, finance, project accounting, financial reporting, funding forecasting, and process improvement is desirable.
