Role Summary

  • Coordinate with state leadership to enhance development efforts.
  • Secure funding to achieve annual financial objectives through diverse fundraising strategies.
  • Support special event fundraising initiatives.
  • Oversee major gift cultivation and donor management in Southern Nevada.
  • Ensure effective donor stewardship practices.
  • Manage marketing and communication efforts related to fundraising.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves collaboration with the Development and Engagement Director, the Executive Director for Southern Nevada, and the Senior Manager of Development and Events to strategize and implement comprehensive fundraising and public engagement initiatives. The Manager will support various fundraising activities, including special events, major gifts, planned giving, and sponsorships, while identifying new opportunities for sustainable support.

Strategic Planning

  • Work alongside the State Director and Executive Director to create a detailed annual fundraising strategy targeting various donor segments, including individuals, organizations, and corporations.
  • Investigate regional fundraising opportunities through planned giving and outreach campaigns.

Donor Engagement

  • Develop and execute strategies for cultivating donor relationships to establish a diverse funding base.
  • Stay informed on current fundraising trends and practices to enhance our efforts.
  • Build and nurture relationships with major donors, coordinating solicitation efforts as needed.
  • Establish a volunteer giving program to engage community members.
  • Identify new corporate and foundation funding sources.
  • Create and maintain materials to support donor engagement.
  • Ensure accurate donor database management and timely acknowledgment of contributions.
  • Collaborate with the Development, Engagement, and Events team to ensure successful execution of fundraising events.
  • Promote events to the business community and support partners interested in hosting events.
  • Facilitate coordination among staff and volunteers to achieve event objectives.
  • Identify and secure sponsorships for programs and events.
  • Provide ongoing support to affiliates to ensure equitable resource allocation.
  • Manage and cultivate a growing network of donors throughout the fiscal year.
  • Assist in training community stakeholders to enhance development efforts.

Management of Development Activities

  • Collaborate with leadership to implement a comprehensive development strategy addressing the unique needs of the affiliate.
  • Ensure the development plan encompasses various funding avenues, including corporate, individual, and event-based fundraising.

Major Gifts and Stewardship

  • Research and engage major gift prospects, developing tailored solicitation plans.
  • Create opportunities for donor engagement, such as site visits and community events, while tracking all interactions.

Additional Responsibilities

Other tasks may be assigned as necessary, ensuring alignment with the core competencies of this role. The incumbent will play a vital role within the overall management team, contributing to collective goals and initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in nonprofit resource development, with a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and donor management software.
  • Strong connections within the Southern Nevada education and philanthropic sectors.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and marketing skills.
  • Understanding of the needs of diverse youth populations.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong public speaking and written communication abilities.
