PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key duties include the following, with additional tasks as assigned:
  • Receives and unpacks incoming deliveries of raw materials and supplies essential for manufacturing, ensuring proper placement within the warehouse or production area.
  • Inspects materials for any damage, documenting issues and escalating them to the supervisor and Quality Control as necessary.
  • Monitors inventory levels to guarantee that all necessary components are available for efficient production processes.
  • Utilizes an RF scanner to accurately track and confirm various orders and quantities of products being moved.
  • Organizes products in storage areas, including bins, pallets, shelves, and racks, based on identification details such as item number, size, or type.
  • Facilitates the movement and transportation of materials, supplies, and finished goods within production and to other departments using appropriate equipment.
  • Performs adjustments or repairs on products or materials in stock as needed.
  • Determines optimal storage methods, identification, and stock locations, taking into account factors like temperature, humidity, and weight limits.
  • Provides training to team members on fundamental manufacturing processes within the department.
  • Actively engages in root cause analysis and contributes to ongoing plant improvement initiatives, suggesting ideas for enhancement.
  • Completes all required documentation accurately and honestly.
  • Adheres to safety protocols, GMP standards, and SOPs/WIs relevant to the work area.
SAFETY COMMITMENT

Promotes a culture of safety in production and demonstrates safe work practices. Participates in safety programs and activities, providing and receiving constructive feedback regarding safety performance. Reports all workplace incidents to the supervisor immediately and communicates concerns or hazards effectively. Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment as required and engages in safety-related activities as part of regular responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience operating powered pallet jacks and/or Interthor stackers is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment adhering to GMP standards, particularly in food or pharmaceuticals, is desirable.
PERFORMANCE CAPABILITIES

Proven ability to consistently meet quality, safety, and efficiency objectives. Strong problem-solving skills are essential. Must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates strong teamwork skills and effective communication abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work. Capable of training others on basic manufacturing processes.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in both verbal and written forms. Proficient in reading and understanding instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals. Capable of accurately completing sanitation and production paperwork and presenting information in small group settings.

MATHEMATICAL APTITUDE

Ability to perform basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

REASONING SKILLS

Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Strong problem-solving abilities are required.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS
  • Basic computer and data entry skills are necessary.
  • Certification to operate powered pallet jacks and Interthor stackers is required.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, is essential.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and use hands for handling and feeling. The position involves moving pallets, operating pallet jacks, lifting, loading products, and cleaning equipment.

Employees may occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs and push or pull forces of up to 65 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
