Position Overview:
The Technical Support Specialist operates both independently and collaboratively to deliver repair, maintenance services, and technical training for users of ingredient dispensing and control systems.

These systems are essential in feed yards, feed mills, and dairies, ensuring seamless and ongoing feed processing operations.

The role also involves collaborating with operations management and various Operational Business Teams to efficiently manage the flow of products from manufacturers to customers.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Service, diagnose, and repair a variety of equipment and systems at customer sites.
  • Monitor system performance at assigned locations, making adjustments or repairs as necessary.
  • Oversee inventory levels of products at customer sites to ensure continuous operational capability.
  • Deliver products from the warehouse to customer locations as required.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers to ensure optimal equipment and system performance.
  • Travel to customer locations using a company vehicle, maintaining compliance with driving and vehicle maintenance standards.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and records as required.
  • Be available for overtime work as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum of one year of experience in equipment service or operation of agricultural machinery is required.
A high school diploma is necessary. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with proven interpersonal and customer service abilities. Candidates should demonstrate effective prioritization skills and possess strong mathematical, analytical, and troubleshooting capabilities. Familiarity with Windows-based PCs and mechanical, electrical, and electronic devices is expected.
A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to pass background checks and drug tests.

Preferred Qualifications:
A technical school degree or college degree is preferred. Knowledge of cattle feeding, feeding systems, feed ingredients, and feed formulation is advantageous. Limited Spanish language skills are a plus. Experience in the installation or operation of feed manufacturing, handling, and distribution is preferred.

Working Conditions:
This role involves outdoor service work 40-60% of the time, with the ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. Occasional ladder climbing and work on elevated equipment may be required. Local travel is expected 75-100% of the time, with limited overnight travel. Overnight travel may be necessary for up to one week per month during the first year. Technical assistance and support may be required during non-working hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
