ADAS Vehicle Systems Technician

Overview

Procom is looking for a skilled ADAS Vehicle Systems Technician to contribute to the upkeep, enhancement, and modernization of test vehicles, with a strong emphasis on both mechanical and electronic systems.

This position entails modifying prototypes and production vehicles to facilitate the development of features within secure and operational vehicles.

The role requires close collaboration with various teams within a large automotive organization, ensuring alignment with research and development departments throughout the product development lifecycle.

Frequent travel may be necessary for troubleshooting, vehicle modifications, or fleet management.

This opportunity is structured as a contract role.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Modification and management of the testing fleet.
  • Assist in the procurement and inventory management of parts and equipment necessary for project execution.
  • Oversee the installation and assessment of testing systems.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and calibration of tools and measurement systems.
  • Install control units, sensors, and adapt them according to specifications.
  • Rework and modify test vehicles to prepare them for designated activities.
  • Ensure the entire testing fleet meets customer and regulatory standards.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the automotive field.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in a workshop environment, showcasing a high level of technical skill.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive software, including ECU flashing and updates.
  • Experience in the assembly, modification, and installation of hardware components for testing and research.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle diagnostics.
  • Proficiency in calibrating Driver Assistance Systems, including radar, lidar, and cameras.
  • Familiarity with vehicle alignment processes.
  • Excellent technical and analytical capabilities with a comprehensive understanding of vehicle mechanics and components.
  • Knowledge of vehicle electronics.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Collaborative and empathetic work approach.
  • Strong team player with a commitment to enhancing safety practices and environmental standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet) and their network architecture.
  • Familiarity with automotive software tools such as Idex, Odis, CPTool, and System42.
  • Basic proficiency in the German language (both written and spoken).

Work Environment
This position is primarily onsite and may involve travel.
