YOUR NEXT ROLE:The Vehicle Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the daily servicing and upkeep of company vehicles to guarantee optimal performance and safety for drivers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Regularly communicate with Superintendents, General Foreman, Foreman, and Project Managers about the maintenance status of vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct inspections, servicing, repairs, and overhauls on various components including transmissions, engines, clutches, drive lines, differentials, and ignition systems, as well as hydraulic controls.
- Utilize computerized diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle repairs.
- Perform preventative and routine maintenance on a range of vehicles and equipment, employing both electronic and analog diagnostic tools while maintaining accurate records.
- Execute mandated fleet inspections and conduct diagnostics to ensure compliance with OSHA/DOT standards, ensuring all repairs align with operational specifications and safety regulations.
- Install vehicle body components, lighting, mirrors, decals, and other accessories as needed.
- Report on out-of-service equipment and provide estimated service times to facilitate future scheduling.
- May involve welding, modifying equipment, and fabricating parts as necessary.
- Diagnose and repair performance issues on all off-road machinery such as backhoes, skid steers, trenchers, and compactors.
- Collaborate with Production and Project Managers regarding maintenance needs for vehicles and equipment related to projects.
- Manage requisitioning and storage of shop supplies.
- When necessary, perform field repairs on vehicles and equipment.
- The responsibilities outlined are intended to convey the general nature and scope of work for this position; additional duties may be assigned based on the role within the business unit.
- Must possess personal tools.
- Strong diagnostic skills for performance and drivability issues on light and medium gas and diesel trucks.
- Proficient in OBDII diagnostics and repairs using Snap-On Modis scan tools.
- Experience working on both gas and diesel vehicles.
- Solid understanding of hydraulic theory and operation.
- Competent in using computers and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapting to changing priorities as needed.
- Capable of working under pressure and adjusting to changing requirements with a positive outlook.
- Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and a strong team player.
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees, including management, staff, vendors, and clients.
- Associate degree in Automotive Technology.
- At least 10 years of experience in automotive and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
- ASE Certified Automobile Technician in a minimum of 8 disciplines or ASE Certified Master Automotive Technician.
- Valid Class C, B, or A California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- A combination of education, training, and relevant experience is acceptable.
- Up to 25% travel may be required.
- Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing job duties.
- Exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise.
- Potential exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, paints, or other irritants.
- Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors under varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs., push/pull, stand/sit, walk, and climb ladders as necessary for extended periods.
- Several hours per day may be spent operating a motor vehicle.

Compensation Range:
$24.25-$32.00 Hourly. This range reflects the expected pay for candidates meeting the specified qualifications and requirements. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, skills, and education.
