Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing professional-level experience in project management and technical leadership for the design and coordination of major transportation facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development of Design- Build and Design- Bid- Build Projects.
  • Apply professional-level engineering knowledge of construction methods, standards, specifications, materials, policies, and procedures in the oversight of both in-house and consultant-designed highway projects.
  • Manage overall project scopes/schedules/budgets and apply project management philosophy to meet programmed schedules and budgetary objectives.
  • Provide extraordinary customer service and maintain high-level skills in project management and design.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of strategic, operational, and financial management principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Valid Professional Engineer's (PE) license.
  • Ability to oversee construction activities for multiple projects of varying complexity as Engineer-in-Responsible-Charge.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse groups.
  • Experience applying roadway engineering design and state and federal standards related to highway design and construction.
  • Experience applying federal, state, and local transportation rules, regulations, policies, and practices.
  • Experience in preliminary engineering and construction activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • College graduate in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
  • Experience with large complex projects in the transportation engineering or construction industry.
