Job Summary

Amarillo College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach mathematics courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and experience in teaching or tutoring. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Teach mathematics courses using engaging instructional methods and techniques.
  • Create lesson plans that promote student involvement and application of the material.
  • Submit college reports and forms in a timely manner.
  • Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
  • Meet with and advise students either before/after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
  • Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform them of their progress.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
  • Participate in course and curriculum development, revision, and evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance and academic performance.
  • Perform effective teaching activities, including classroom instruction, directing projects, and assisting with student coursework, research, and internships.
  • Plan, develop, and present organized classroom instructions and learning opportunities for students in accordance with approved course outlines.
  • Perform other work-related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field.
  • Some degree of experience in teaching or tutoring mathematics.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in mathematics or a related field, and experience teaching in higher education.

Work Environment
