As a Diabetes Education Specialist at Frye Regional Medical Center, you will play a critical role in providing direct patient and family education in an outpatient setting. You will manage the daily operations of the assigned department, including scheduling and communication with patients and providers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives that directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of DSME programs.
- Arrange and coordinate the activities of advisory groups.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Current RN license to practice in NC required
- Certified Diabetes Education required within 1 year of hire or transfer into position
- Insulin pump/CGM certification preferred
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
