Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic individual to fill the role of Production Planner, responsible for creating and maintaining the master production schedule (MPS). The successful candidate will use input from sales and operations planning to create the MPS, manage customer demand, production capacity, and lead time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain the master production schedule (MPS) to indicate production and assembly timelines.
  • Use input from sales and operations planning to create the MPS.
  • Manage customer demand, production capacity, and lead time.
  • Provide alerts on revenue risk, manage manufacturing dates, and past due dates.
  • Work with the production planner to provide clear-to-build notifications for new demand and shortage alerts.
  • Audit and monitor ERP action recommendations.
  • Work with the production planner to ensure the MPS is achievable and make changes as needed.
  • Audit ERP parameters and align them to operations processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in material/production planning and procurement in a mid-to-large company, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in a related field and minimum of years of directly related experience and/or training.
  • Solid understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Material Review Planning (MRP) knowledge required.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in electronic components required.
  • APICS CPIM and/or ISM Certified preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100 strongly preferred.
  • Greenbelt Lean Manufacturing 6 Sigma certificate or equivalent training preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel to supplier base locations.
