At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of space technology to make humanity a multi-planetary species. As a Manufacturing Development Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in developing novel solutions for spacecraft composites.
You'll work on spacecraft that deliver cargo to the International Space Station and beyond, utilizing your knowledge and experience to accelerate hardware production and increase quality.
Responsibilities include:
- Drafting and designing repairs for composite structures to meet ultimate, fatigue, and corrosion requirements.
- Coordinating with shop floor production supervisors and technicians to clarify work instructions and provide direction.
- Effective task prioritization and communication with multiple customers and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Defining, coordinating, and evaluating Non Destructive Testing (NDE) processes and results.
- Writing, updating, and optimizing manufacturing planning documentation.
Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in material science, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or aerospace engineering.
Preferred skills and experience include two years or more of problem-solving in a composites production environment, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to quickly assess issues and prioritize work.
Additional requirements include the ability to work long hours and weekends when necessary, and ITAR requirements for U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.
