Key Responsibilities- Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure optimal departmental efficiency and productivity
- Assume all duties of the Chef de Cuisine in their absence
- Direct the work of two or more employees, using discretion and independent judgment
- Assist in creating and testing new recipes and menu design
- Coordinate service, pass and pick-up of food
- Inspect the cleanliness of the line floor and kitchen stations
- Oversee the proper and efficient preparation of food for restaurant, ensuring quality and quantity standards are being met
- Ensure foods are stored and served at proper temperatures
- Taste and monitor presentation of all food served to guests, ensuring appearance and quality are consistently maintained
- English fluency required, Spanish fluency helpful
- Culinary graduate with knowledge of all facets of kitchen operations and production
- Minimum three years prior hotel/kitchen experience, including a minimum of two years of supervisory experience
- Familiar with OSHA, local Department of Health regulations, relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substances, and COVID protocols
- Valid San Diego Food Handlers card required upon hire
- Valid California drivers license required
- Demonstrated ability to train staff and ensure luxury resort customer service
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented, organized, and efficient
- Safety-minded, with high quality standards for production and service
- Good team player, with customer service focus
