Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial and Human Resources Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing new hire paperwork, assisting with IRIS personnel and position changes, and initiating IRIS terminations and checkout processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage new hire paperwork, including e-verification process, for part-time undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Assist Business Manager with IRIS personnel and position changes.
  • Initiate IRIS terminations and checkout process.
  • Work with Business Manager and Administrative Coordinator to onboard new staff and faculty hires.
Accounting and IRIS Responsibilities
  • Post and enter payment invoices.
  • Post and enter petty cash transactions.
  • Post and enter all honorariums as directed by Business Manager.
  • Use Center p-card to order catering for meetings, order supplies and equipment, and reconcile p-card statement monthly.
  • Complete internal and external transfer vouchers.
  • Assist Business Manager in reconciling all departmental ledgers monthly.
Payroll Responsibilities
  • Process biweekly and monthly payroll, including payroll reconciliation.
  • Enter additional pay, including summer school pay, as directed by Business Manager.
Travel Responsibilities
  • Act as delegate for all Directors to assist with entering and processing travel requests and travel expense reports.
  • Set up guest travelers in IRIS and follow through with travel assistance and payments.
Other Duties
  • Act as point of contact for facilities requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Manager.
Requirements
  • Ability to prioritize and manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment, maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent administrative and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient ability with spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service to Center staff and faculty.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year office experience.
  • 1 year experience in higher education.
Education
  • High school diploma required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
