Job Summary

The Director of Development is responsible for leading all development activities within Enlace Chicago to raise funding for the organization's operations and programs. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring a comprehensive fundraising plan to maintain and expand private and public support.

The position involves identifying and strengthening relationships with community stakeholders, actively pursuing and managing all types of leads, including individual and corporate donors, and fostering strong donor and sponsor stewardship. Additionally, the individual will seek, apply for, and manage grant funding, and oversee the strategic development of a marketing plan to broaden the impact of Enlace's efforts.

The Director of Development will work closely with organizational leadership and staff across the organization to plan, develop, and maintain a comprehensive fundraising portfolio, and to coordinate the organization's overall communications strategy. This includes planning and executing fundraising events, and supervising the development and communication team.

Requirements for the position include a bachelor's degree, with a master's degree in marketing, writing, development, finance, or management preferred. The individual must have proven success in development for a large nonprofit, with experience running capital campaigns and success fundraising from multiple donor channels. A minimum of seven years' experience with grants management, communications, and marketing, event planning, and/or database management is required.

The ideal candidate will be skilled at establishing and cultivating strong relationships with peers, across different levels of the organization and externally, and will have the ability to speak, write, and read in English and Spanish. The annual salary is commensurate with experience, up to $140,000, with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, life, and short and long-term disability insurances, 403b retirement options, and generous paid time off.
