COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

The pay range provided is not indicative of Sysco's actual pay range but is merely algorithmic and provided for generalized comparison. Factors that may be used to determine rate of pay include specific skills, work location, work experience and other individualized factors.

Compensation:

$20.00/hour, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Summary:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for executing various warehouse operations, including loading and unloading products, manual depalletizing, receiving goods, and managing inventory replenishments. This role requires adherence to Preferred Work Methods (PWMs) and involves working in diverse temperature environments, including freezers and coolers. The operator must perform all tasks safely and efficiently while meeting productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize the warehouse management system to safely transport pallets between staging areas.
  • Employ material handling equipment (MHE), primarily reach forklifts, for product placement.
  • Inspect products for quality and report any discrepancies to management.
  • Replenish stock in designated areas following established procedures.
  • Ensure secure packaging of pallets for safe delivery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Complete forklift operator certification and comply with all operational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to minimize product loss.
  • Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; six months of forklift experience required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods.
Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in a warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
