This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic operation from its inception.

Position Overview

The Material Handler plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective and precise management of materials, which is essential for meeting production targets. This position involves collaboration with various departments to ensure a seamless flow of materials, contributing significantly to the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently transport materials within the facility using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand carts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular counts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, and organize items in designated storage areas for easy access.
  • Accurately pick materials from inventory to fulfill production orders and deliver them to the respective production areas.
  • Conduct visual inspections of materials for any damage or defects and report findings to supervisors.
  • Keep detailed records of material transactions, update inventory systems, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Team Leader or Supervisor.
  • Ensure cleanliness and adhere to established safety protocols.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures, and work instructions, including the Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
  • Maintain awareness of the impact of individual contributions on quality, safety, and compliance policies; report any quality issues or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse and shipping operations is required.
  • Basic math skills are essential.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a diverse workforce.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Experience operating equipment such as Forklifts and Combi-Lifts is necessary.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Products.
  • Familiarity with online real-time manufacturing control systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to utilize various tools and measuring instruments, including calipers and tape measures.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an 8-hour shift.
  • Capability to use hands and fingers to handle machinery and work near moving mechanical parts.
