About the Role

Nordic Ware is seeking a highly skilled Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our team in a 2nd shift position. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of products and materials throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Handling: Safely operate a forklift to move materials and products within the warehouse, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with the Inventory Control Specialist to ensure accurate counts and proper storage of in-process products.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless material flow and minimize downtime on production lines.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation, including recharging forklifts and other related duties.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Receive and ship department materials, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • 5S Activities: Participate in 5S activities to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 months experience with scan guns and bar codes, and minimum 6 months forklift driving experience.
  • Skills: Strong mathematical aptitude, ability to read, write, and understand English at a 6th grade level, and comfortable moving pallets weighing up to 3,000 pounds.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of all fixtures and uses, and ability to operate material handling equipment, including a forklift.
  • Personal Qualities: Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, willing to work overtime periodically, and able to consistently maintain a reliable record of attendance and punctuality.
