Job Overview:

We are excited to present a significant opportunity within the Community Partner Program at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. The ideal candidate for the Community Support Specialist (CSS) role will be exceptionally organized, adept at managing multiple tasks, and enthusiastic about learning policy guidelines. A strong communicator with a proactive attitude and a solid work ethic will thrive in this fast-paced environment.

As a CSS, you will operate under general supervision, collaborating with both internal and external partners to enhance awareness of CPP initiatives and offer expertise in Medicaid, CHIP, and SNAP benefits. Your key responsibilities will encompass partner recruitment, program support and training, data collection, assessment, and evaluation, along with other assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain regular attendance and be prepared to travel up to 65% of the time.

Partnership Recruitment and Retention (35%):

  • Conduct assessments of organizations within the designated region.
  • Establish recruitment objectives and engage local entities.
  • Assist in onboarding new community partner organizations.

Program Support and Training (35%):

  • Provide continuous support, training, and technical assistance.
  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings and represent the department at external functions.
  • Assist with Community Partner Program Forums.

Data Collection, Assessment/Evaluation, and Program Development (20%):

  • Document program activities and participate in evaluation efforts.
  • Identify trends, best practices, and offer recommendations for enhancements.

Other Duties (10%):

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of privacy laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in effective communication, program organization, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to provide proof of a valid driver's license and work independently.
  • Skilled in utilizing personal computer applications and troubleshooting technology.
  • Capable of interacting effectively with diverse groups and maintaining professional relationships.
