The ideal candidate for the Community Support Specialist position will be exceptionally organized, adept at managing multiple tasks, and eager to understand policy frameworks. A strong work ethic, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive attitude are essential for success in this role.
As a Community Support Specialist, you will operate under general supervision, engaging with both internal and external partners, promoting awareness of Community Partner Program initiatives, and providing expertise in Medicaid, CHIP, and SNAP benefits. Your key responsibilities will encompass partner recruitment, program assistance and training, data gathering, assessment, and evaluation, along with other assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Regular attendance and willingness to travel approximately 65% of the time.
Partnership Recruitment and Retention (35%):
- Conduct assessments of organizations within the designated area.
- Establish recruitment objectives and engage local entities.
- Support the onboarding process for new community partner organizations.
Program Support and Training (35%):
- Deliver ongoing support, training, and technical assistance.
- Coordinate stakeholder meetings and represent the department at external events.
- Assist with Community Partner Program Forums.
Data Collection, Assessment/Evaluation, and Program Development (20%):
- Document program activities and engage in evaluation efforts.
- Identify trends and best practices, providing recommendations for enhancements.
Additional Responsibilities (10%):
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of privacy regulations and policies.
- Proficient in effective communication, program organization, and problem-solving.
- Ability to provide proof of a valid driver's license and work independently.
- Competent in utilizing personal computer applications and troubleshooting technology.
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups and maintain professional relationships.
