Job Title: Young Parent Employment Counselor

At HIRED (MN), we are committed to empowering young parents to achieve economic stability and self-sufficiency. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Young Parent Employment Counselor to join our team.

About the Role:

This position will work with young parents aged 18-24 who are precariously housed or homeless and have multiple barriers in their lives. The counselor will assist participants in re-engaging in school and/or the workforce, providing career exploration options, and coordinating support services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct one-on-one program overviews with assigned participants
  • Assess and evaluate participant strengths and barriers
  • Develop and implement employment plans with measurable goals
  • Provide ongoing coaching and employment counseling
  • Coordinate internal and external resources and support services
  • Monitor and report on participant progress
Requirements:
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Strong counseling and coaching skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and coordinate support services
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn new software
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with young parents
Work Environment:

This position requires a flexible schedule and ability to provide services at various locations, sometimes out of regular business hours.
