Job Overview

Position Summary

The role involves delivering exceptional service and fostering enduring relationships with clients. The individual will handle monetary transactions for bank patrons while ensuring precise documentation of deposits, withdrawals, and other financial activities. Responsibilities include the initiation and closure of accounts, as well as providing guidance on the full range of banking services.

Work Schedule

Typical hours are Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM, with rotating weekend shifts that may include Saturday and Sunday.

Physical Requirements

This position requires prolonged periods of standing and the ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 45 pounds. Manual dexterity and acute visual and auditory skills are essential for performing job functions effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Execute standard teller functions, including processing deposits and cashing checks, while addressing various customer service inquiries.
  2. Manage holds on deposits and complete necessary documentation.
  3. Prepare and submit reports as required, including compliance forms.
  4. Conduct operational tasks such as vault management, cash ordering, and ATM reconciliations.
  5. Facilitate the opening and closing of both personal and business deposit accounts, ensuring compliance with necessary regulations.
  6. Assist customers in completing required paperwork and signing documents.
  7. Aim to meet sales targets by being well-informed about available products and services.
  8. Handle various customer service tasks, including:
    - Responding to phone inquiries and assisting walk-in clients
    - Conducting customer research
    - Processing check orders
    - Closing accounts
    - Managing account printouts
    - Sorting incoming mail
    - Assisting with collections and safe deposit box inquiries
    - Verifying deposits for credit assessments
  9. Maintain customer accounts, including various banking products such as CDs and IRAs.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  11. Demonstrate consistent attendance and flexibility in scheduling, including weekend availability.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of 24 months of experience in a teller role or similar cash handling position is preferred.

Comprehensive knowledge of personal and business banking products, with a proactive approach to staying informed about changes.

Understanding of relevant banking regulations and internal policies.

Willingness to engage in ongoing education related to banking principles.

Preferred Education

High School diploma or equivalent is required.
