Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Ingersoll Rand. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the assembly of our products. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will be essential in ensuring the quality of our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform repetitive progressive line assembly of parts and sub-assemblies on any line within the plant, by predetermined standard work.
  • Detect quality defects and unsafe conditions and perform general housekeeping in work areas.
  • Be knowledgeable and follow all applicable safety rules and procedures.
  • Read print drawings to determine dimensions, design, and materials for construction and understand method sheets.
  • Operate power pneumatic tools, hand tools, measuring devices such as tape measures, and levels required for performing job duties.
  • Maintain and inspect tools and equipment, and create work orders for tools/equipment to be repaired as needed.
  • Loading and unloading onto conveyors and carts, operating fork trucks, and hoists.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Tasks can include but are not limited to: brazing, soldering, operating machines and presses, hanging and unhanging parts, and performing quality checks and tests.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma (GED) is preferred.
  • One (1) year in manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Familiar with and ability to utilize all hand tools including wrenches, sockets, hammers, tape measures, crimpers, cutters, and steel banding.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to use equipment and maintain general understanding of business process.
  • Knowledgeable of and able to utilize computer systems.

  • Must possess ability to work well in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.

Key Skills:

  • Ability to learn to operate all equipment associated with the job; including, but not limited to, power hand tools, forklifts, skyjacks, cranes, and measuring devices.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
