Job Summary

The Cost Controller II is a key member of the MasTec Industrial team, responsible for implementing, training, and overseeing project controls practices across various operational groups. This role requires a strong understanding of cost forecasting, trend analysis, and progress measurement programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish project budgets, change management, and progress measurement programs under the direction of senior cost controllers.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of cost forecasting and trend analysis for large and small projects.
  • Conduct progress and performance analysis and forecasting for labor, as well as cost forecasting for all cost types.
  • Author and update cost, progress, and change management narratives in weekly and monthly reports.
  • Ensure compliance and project controls oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with clients to meet project management and reporting requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project controls cost analysis or a related field.
  • Professional certification in AACE, PMI, or other relevant fields is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of MasTec Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of InEight and Vista (Cost) or InEight and P6 (Schedule) software.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and contract documents.
  • Understanding of complex earned value and cost control methods.
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Exceptional team building and collaboration skills.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work up to 12 hours a day in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks repetitively and continuously for several hours.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including safety-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and a hard hat.
