Job Overview

Volt is currently seeking a dedicated Civil Planner specializing in Nuclear Operations. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient planning and execution of nuclear projects.

Key Responsibilities

As a Civil Planner in this domain, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing Work Instructions: Create detailed work instructions that guide mechanical, electrical, and maintenance teams in project execution and modifications.
  • Material Procurement: Evaluate and approve the procurement of materials necessary for effective work package execution.
  • Field Assessments: Conduct on-site evaluations to identify maintenance needs and enhance work package quality.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including Work Management, Supply, Operations, and Engineering, to address and resolve any work package challenges.
  • Documentation: Define and prepare the necessary procedures, drawings, equipment, and materials for planned work packages.
  • Package Preparation: Facilitate the preparation of work packages by managing necessary documentation and permits.
  • Compliance Verification: Ensure that work instructions meet all safety and regulatory standards.
  • Review Processes: Approve and review work packages to guarantee safety, quality, and compliance with technical standards.
  • Procedure Development: Revise and develop maintenance procedures to support work package development and compliance.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning efforts of other system planners or contractors to ensure comprehensive package preparation.
  • Meeting Participation: Engage in planning meetings and reviews to ensure adherence to station processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Adept at troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Familiarity with nuclear power plant work management and planning processes.
  • Understanding of safety regulations in a power plant environment.
  • Knowledge of ALARA principles.
  • Awareness of nuclear security operations and regulations.

Compensation: The pay range for this position is between $65.00 and $75.00 per hour, depending on various factors such as education, experience, and specific job responsibilities.
